Speaker back box is a large volume acoustic enclosure designed to provide the highest quality sound reinforcement for distributed 8 inch speaker systems — it's ideal for high fidelity, recessed speaker applications. It can also be used in new or existing construction when installed in suspended tile ceilings.

A&E SPECIFICATIONS

The recessed acoustic enclosure for 8 in. speakers shall be Lowell Model No. DX108. It shall be 22-gauge steel, undercoated and lined Model Number with 1.5 in. thick acoustic lining to eliminate resonance. It shall measure 15 in. diameter x 10.5 in. deep with a volume of 1.074 cu.ft. and shall have four .5–.75 in. compound knockouts for conduit and two flexible welded hanger straps. It shall be finished in black powder epoxy and have an extended flange.
